The Wagyu breed originated in Japan. The word Wagyu actually means Japanese cow.

Less than 2% of domestic beef meets USDA Prime requirements. When our cattle are fed out correctly, 96% of our Stone Ridge Wagyu and 100% of our full blood Private Select Wagyu beef meets or exceeds the requirements for USDA Prime.

Wagyu beef is known for its intense marbling, buttery flavor and luxurious texture. Additionally, Wagyu beef is genetically predisposed to have a higher ratio of unsaturated to saturated fat content making it the most heart healthy beef available.
